Laura D. McDonald is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, specializing in eating disorders, trauma, addictions, bereavement & grief. She received her Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Long Island University. Ms. McDonald was also presented with the Aviva Bershaw Award for Dedication and Commitment to the Profession of Counseling.

Ms. McDonald assisted in the writing and editing of the book Regaining Your Self in 2007. In 2010 expanded edition of Regaining Your Self, she wrote the workbook section entitled "The Journey."

Her primary interests include an integrated approach of cognitive and interpersonal techniques. Along with developing behavioral skills that support change for one's recovery.

Her clinical work has consisted of art therapy groups for children and adults, individual and group therapy for a women's inpatient drug & alcohol facility, family support group facilitator for a non-profit eating disorders organization. Currently, Laura D. McDonald, MS, LMHC has been Clinical Director since 2007, her focus includes assessments, individual and family therapy.
